'01 Ford Ranger, RIP 93 X
Okay, so I've posted a few threads over the last year, year and a half about lowering my explorer. Eventually I'd like to get the I-Beams and drop it as far as it'll go, but for now I'm wanting to find 2" Drop Springs for the Front end. I've seen people mention them, and I want to get a few simple questions asked...

First, my setup is a 1993 Ford Explorer XLT, I'm going to drop it 2" in the front, and 3 in teh back for now using springs/front blocks/back.

Second, please no "just lift it" replies, I'll lift another Explorer down the road.

Now for the questions..

Will the Ranger 2" Drop Springs work on my Explorer? like the '90 version?

If they won't, can anyone direct me to where (if anywhere) springs for my Explorer would be sold? I all ready have links to AIM, God Father Customs, so if the Ranger springs will work, don't worry about posting... (but i won't hold it against ya if you do anyways, lol)

Thanks for any help.

How will you know, if it's not posted?

Why lift it when you can drop it? :D Drop it, man! It's your vehicle

Here are two:

Dead Link Removed
And of course, Coilsprings.com (they said they drop too)

You might be out of luck until Wednesday if you have questions from either two... suerte!

thanks Donner, i like the lowered scene better anyways...

and for those that will read this thread while intoxicated for the next 18 or so hours, i've been searching on the forum, and that's what led to this post, just trying to doublecheck what i read, and find out some more info.

yES Im at a great juncture here myself,,, if I wanna drop it or raise it..?
HAPPY NEW YEAR

No problem...

Dropped or lifted, we're all modified... Do they make those kits in GA that you make the car go up on three wheels and hop/bounce? I forget what it's called... I thinks it's hydrolics?? That's a trip to see...

Any plans like that? Or is that West Coast?

No, I think that DONK magazine gotz dem' 26' that I could make fit,, I would need about $5,000 tho, 2 even start that kind of project, I promice i would do that build up nice, 26" RIMs on Ford Explorer,,,It would make headlines, in DONK magazine,(from tha south of course):us:

i think that's a "if you like it and have the money" type thing. we have a few monte carlos and old cadys rollin around the AUG (augusta) with that kind of setup.

i know this one girl in the tuner scene, she has hers setup so when the viper alarm locks, it sets down on rails and tucks the wheels on the honda, and when it unlocks it goes back to ride height... it's a trip.

but i contacted coilsprings.com with my request, hopefully they can help me out.

Fairfax, VA though huh? I'm from the Norfolk area myself, relocated to the GA after my dad got out of the navy. 757 man!!! that's the way for me! lol

Slammedxonair, that's what I was thinking. They'll work all right without any problems? That's what I was originally posting, to make sure Ranger springs WOULD work...

I heard somewhere about F-150 springs? Anyone know if that's true? Something like they could be used for Explorers? Not sure if it was for lowering or lifting though.

f150 springs are probably too big but im not sure im almost positive the old eibach springs for the explorer had the same part number as the ranger springs. but yea the belltech springs would be the closest bet.

okay, cause i got an email back from coilsprings.com, and he's quoting like 200 dollars just for the front springs... but i have to give him the oem part number. is that a good deal? or should i just look around for ranger springs?

Slammedxonair knows what you're doing... you'd be better served taking that advice... :)

i thought i had found it, but then i saw 1.5" of lift....dangit!
