Everybody likes them. I have a KKM intake which is the same thing except without the intake pipe. The intake pipe isn't restrictive so you don't really need a new one unless the look is what you're going for. But everyone likes their intakes, they make a difference.
I have had a K&N replacement filter in my Explorer since 15k miles...it now has 104k. I added a Borla catback a few months ago and would like to help the engine breath a little better on the front end. Where is the best place to buy a K&N intake and what price should I expect to pay? Thanks!

The K&N FIPK works for me. In California the CARB certification sticker helps at inspection time. I noticed improved throttle response but not a lot of noise under the hood at WOT. I had to drill a big 11/16" hole into the intake tube using a step drill bit for my air temp sensor but everything else was bolt on.
i installed my K&N cold air over the summer and i love it, the throttle response is much better and gives out a nice hissing noise, i have a flowmaster cat-back exhaust and it def affected the sound in higher rmps, gave it a deep aggressive roar near 3/4 grand, i love it
I have a '91 XLT. I really want to put a K&N intake into it. I've been looking all over this forum, local part stores, and the internet trying to find one. I've only been able to find them for '94 and up. This is driving me crazy. Can anyone tell me where I can find a K&N cold air intake for my 1st gen explorer?
