- 98 Ranger XLT
My wife and I retired to Nicaragua from Canada about 10 years ago. Before arriving, we spent 18 months traveling throughout Central America with our 98 Ranger XLT 4x4 with a camper and towing a small trailer. We are currently running a B&B on the southern Pacific coast. Having a US built Ranger sold in the Canadian market and now operating in Nicaragua is proving a challenge as the vehicle ages. Very few mechanics understand fuel injected gasoline engines-most of the market here is diesel. Our only mechanic is an 8 hour round trip away, often involving an over night excursion. Hopefully this forum will be helpful in keeping the Ranger on the road.
