The 1-2 button has become temperamental on our 1999. I found the master code and reprogrammed the entry code. Truck opens fine but now the pre-programmed combo of 7-8 and 9-0 is not automatically locking all doors. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've always wondered why people would use the keypad to LOCK their doors. Why not use the lock/unlock button on the driver's or passenger's door, or the the remote key fob? Seems to me it takes more time and effort to lock the vehicle by using the keypad. If you don't have a remote fob, you can buy them off eBay for around $6.

I'm a bit silly, every time I get out of my Truck I lock it with the button inside, and then I'll either lock it again with the remote or hit the buttons on the door just to "make sure it's locked". Maybe this is a 'first car' thing, I dunno.

Sounds like an OCD thing.

Yeah, I have a few little things like that, perhaps it's the Autism (I got Aspergers Syndrome after all.)

I've never owned a vehicle with this until now. The former owner said the keypad did not work however I have a replacement from an explorer. How do I reset it after I install it? Do you know or have any advice?

There is no reset. Are you sure the system is inoperative? The factory 5-digit code can be found on a label on the RAP module. You can also create your own 5-digit code, but the factory code can not be erased or changed.
