keyless entry

My friend has a 2002 sport, and wants to know how to find the keyless entry code like I did on my 99. I checked where the jack goes, because that is where it was in my x, but it wasn’t there. I have done some searching and I found a thread that stated for a 2001 it was located behind the air bag in the front on the passenger side. I was wondering if anybody has looked here on a '02 sport and if this is where it is?

wrong forum...this one is for the 4 door 02-05 explorers only. the sports and sporttracs go in the other forum, so that's probably why you haven't gotten an answer.

The 2 doors didn't change much from 95-03, the last year for them, I would fully expect the code to be on the computer module in the jack stoage area, but you say it's not there...so I dunno.

its is behind the 2nd row seat on the passenger side, you need to remove the trim panel to get to it. There is a link on it in the forum. Moving to 2002-2005 General Explorations.

Yes, the 5-digit keypad code is also printed on the Central Security Module label. You must remove the airbag and then the CSM to read the label. Sounds like the location in the post above might be a little easier.

If its the same as my old 97 then its in the rear drivers side panel where the jack was stored. I think its on the windsheild washer pump for the rear window, not exectly sure its been a while, you can definitely search in the correct forum as suggested above though.

I think they thought you were referring to your EX, not your friends, that was they said you should look elsewhere, thats what I thouht when I replied. But yes, behind the pillar, I beleive there are pics to this process as well.
