Keypad-question

Hi

I´am new here on the board. I come from germany and have a Explorer from 1998, Highclass.
My question is now, can I build a keypad on my car and how is the programming?
My Ford dealer and garage can´t help me about this, it´s a little problem here in germany
to find a good garage for an explorer

It is probably difficult to do.. You need to get the RAP module and not to mention other stuff. You truck didn't come with keyless entry or keypad?

No, my truck comes with keyless entry, thats not the problem.
The problem is, that I have last weekend while I fill the trunk I put something on the
switch on the left side and after close the trunk I see the key into the truck, ...**** happens.
And this I don´t want to have again.

If you have a keypad, look on the left rear side where the factory jack is located and look for a gray/black box that has a 5 digit number printed on a sticker on the box. That is your access number.

schoen, mal einen Deutschen auf dem amerik. Explorer Forum zu sehen. Ich geb zu ich musste etwas schmunzeln, als ich den Thread hier gesehen habe. Ich habe mit naemlich einen 97 Eddie Bauer aus Amerika nach Deutschland importiert und ich habe das Keypad am Auto.

Quakecom, ... na, was meinst du, wie ich drauf gekommen bin ;-), ich hab das im
Exploristenforum gesehen *grins*
Aber ich war einfach der Meinung, das man mir hier eher helfen könnte mit dem Keypad.
Hat ja auch geklappt, ich muss mir nur noch ein Keypad besorgen, was aber kein Problem sein sollte,
zur Not von eBay USA.
Ich hoffe, das mein bescheidenes Englisch nicht zu peinlich ist, da isses nämlich nicht weit mit her, wie man sicher merkt.
Ist halt schon eine weile her...
Was sagt eigentlich die Versicherung zu dem Keypad? Sicher, wer viel fragt bekommt viele Antworten ... ;-))
