You know, the car company!

I was never impressed by KIA, but I guess for the price you cant beat them? As far as quality and reliability goes...what do you guys think?

Oh, and they also have the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty!

I'd get a Hyundai over a Kia. I have a few friends with Hyundais and they're not that bad.

Kia = Krap!

I have no personal experience with them, but I tend to wonder how good of quality it is when you can buy a 4 door sedan for $9000 brand new.

My logic must be off then?

Cause it would be finacial disaster for Kia if they made crappy cars and had to keep replacing parts under warranty.

I know to people who own a Kia, so far so good, but im not impressed! I wouldnt buy a Kia, but the low price and the 100,000 mile warranty is tempting. :)

I have yet to meet someone who likes their Kia, most I know plan on "upgrading" to a Honda.......

I have the same logic, but in my vast(21 years :D ) experience you tend to get what you pay for. Most likely in the creature comforts area as opposed to the engine. You don't get many warranty returns on worn out seats.

That 100,000 mile warranty is powertrain only...just keep that in mind...

They would probably be a solid vehicle, but I just couldn't bring myself to drive one.

ive driven the crap out of a 2000 kia sephia. it will not spin tire, but it gets un beliveable gas mileage. if your looking for a cheap car, that is going to explode at 100,001 miles, go get yourself a kia. otherwise stick with something a little more reputable. good mileage, no power, not very confortable, and of your over 6 feet tall, forget about it. the suv kia is cool though (sportage i think). it has a tiny tiny tiny little solid rear axle, and a lever for the 4x4.

I'd stay away from any Korean car company myself, Hyundi included. I hear nothing but stories from owners. The last was a guy that needed a new engine in his Kia Sportage at 60K miles. And the driver was no dumby when it came to vehicle maintaince.

Scary cars if you ask me.

I'd take that 9K and go buy a used Honda. It'll last you 10 times longer....if not forever.

Anybody remember Daewoo? Another Korean car company that went out of business. They made low grade computer monitors and even worse cars.

I guess the point being that Korea is not known for their quality cars.

Just my 2 cents.

Whee Trust me, anybody who does to their cars, must mean something...

To be honest though, I'd never trust a Korean car company. My family rented a brand new Hyundai Sonata (97 I think it was) and about 2,000 miles later, the brakes made a popping sound and they stopped working  Turns out the brake line from the master cylinder popped off, or something to that extent. Had to use the E-brake to stop...pure junk.

everyone i know with a kia hates it - this one girl had it for literally 2 months and the transmission went bad - in an automatic!

Last year Consumer Reports had this to say about buying a new Kia, "Even with [Kia's] excellent warranty and low price, we suggest buying a more reliable late-model used car."

I don't think I would drive a car from a company that's an acronym for Killed In Action.

i knew a lady who owned one, it was always taking craps on her and she didn't like beat the crap out of it....
kia = a big thumbs down

Kias are great cars...

To make fun of!:D

I agree that they are fun to make fun of. The Sorento looks nice, and their minivan (Sedona) is a great value. Don' care for the rest of them, and I'ved never driven one.

Yeah my Sister/brother inlaw just bought a Sedona a few month ago. They love it. They buy nothing but Toyota before. They swear by Toyota and now they swear their Van is "great". I dont like my sister/brother inlaw that much...

Before they bought it, I sugested a Ford Van. ;) I dont know what's out there as far as Mini Vans go and I was just kidding when I sugested the Ford Mini van. There responce was "yeah right, Ford makes junk!"

It's funny how every person out there for some reason hate one certain car company. Most of these types of people never owned a brand of car they hate so much. It's very funny.

I would never buy one, but they are not bad. Specially the Sportage is pretty proven by now. And actually, change some batches on it and it looks like a Jeep Liberty. (not funny :( )
