Does anyone else have this problem? My A/C vent for the driver has no airflow with the other vents open, close the 2 center ones and it's adequate. Wondering if I got a duct loose or if it's a design "feature". BTW it's a '95

My 92 has less airflow out of the two side vents then the middle ones. I think it has to do with the design/routing of the ductwork, because our other cars are like that too.

peace

Yeah, mine sucks also. It's just poor design.
I just close the passenger vents when noone is riding with me to help get more air flow.

The air blows equal out of all vents in my 96'. Even the rear blows the same as the front if I have the blowers on the same setting.

resurrecting an old thread....

When I took apart my dash to replace the heatercore I found that Quality was NOT job 1 the day my A/C ducting was installed. the foam seal was covering half the hole causing the underdash to get air conditioning and blocking off flow to the drivers side vent.

Repositionied it and problem solved. But this is a while your there project and not something to do "just cause" as you have to remove the entire @#$@@ dash to get it out

I wanted to get into my vents and I could get to the drivers side (yes, my air flow sucks) but couldn't get the the passengers side. How do you do this and how do you actually get the dash off.

Sounds like a PITA, but I would (as you said) make a project of of it.

Thanks

'99 EB and I got the same problem. Ya think they could have fixed this in like the 8 years it's been going on....

I have the same problem on my 97' X. I was thinking the blower might be getting ready to crap out, guess not. Seems to be a common problem. :(

Do a search on the blend door fix and you'll have to do pretty much everything except replace the duct box.

Mine had almost no airflow so it may seem normal to ya'll now or if you get adventuresome, extend the diverter farther into the central plenum to get more air.

It took me the vast majority of the day to get to the guts of the ductwork.

Yeah i have the same problem on my 95, i guess there is nothing we can do?

Don

You could do like I did and tear apart the dash, but I just closed the middle vents till there was equal air coming out of all 'em

my 97 x sport does the same thing i get low flow from the driver side vent......but it's more a nuciance then a problem...

Air and heat blow in defrost, but not main vents. HELP!

Yep, my heat and air will blow from my defrost only. Nothing comes out of my main vents. could this be a vaccum problem, or switch? When I move my switch to the vents, nothing changes. It continues to blow from the defrost. Thanks

Blake

mine just started this EXACT same thing a few weeks ago. cmon experts, help some brothers out!!! no matter what setting i put it on, it will only blow out of the defrost (mostly) and floor (a little) at the same time.

if the system is only working out of certain vents (like the defrost/floor) that is a good sign that the mode door is not working. it could be a bad cable/actuator, door might be frozen solid etc.

[mode door]........ i assume this would be one of those "pull the whole dash out and look at it" type of things?
