tireguy10 -- please search, what you're looking for is a "solid axle swap", or an "SAS" for short.

if you have to ask how dont do it go find a shop to do it for you

did'nt ask how to do it just if anybody has had any luck doing it. and not that i need to defend myself i like to build my own projects not pay some to do it for me

Search for SAS's done on any 2nd gen. (95-01) Explorer it will be the same thing you have. There are a few examples in the offroad section of this site. One guy's username is section525 and his is a sticky in the offroad projects section.

What do you plan to use the truck for? What size tires? What front axle?

:)

If can find out if leaf springs will fit and KEEP the front bumper, then let me know. There was a guy who did SAS using leafs on a Explorer Sport, but he cut the front bumper apart and it does not look real good IMO. I think it is listed in the for sale section.
