I noticed my wifes 99 mountaineer is leaning towards the driver side. I measured fender to ground and the driver is an inch and a half lower than passenger side. I replaced the shocks some time last year, what could I check as to why its leaning? NO, she is not big (115 #).
Thanks for any suggestions.

Front or rear?

Sorry front is inch and half, rear almost two inches

First check your air pressure. I know it's stupid, but it is often forgotten. A half inch difference between drivers side and passenger side is pretty normal. Well atleast for me, I just ran out to my garage and I noticed my truck also sags from passenger side to drivers side a little. The rear end is going to sag regardless, Unfortunately it is a characteristic of our explorers. I suggest getting a pair of shackles and turning the torsion bar to even out the the height.

if its full of gas, its going to sag more.... tired springs and like 140 pounds of gas on the left side too

It is true about the gas tank...kinda stupid how they put it on the driver's side and not in the center. Anyways, I have upgraded my shocks, replaced the rear springs with heavier duty ones(due to butt sag) and it still leaned on the driver's side. In order to balance it all out, I had the driver's side rear spring arced more than the other side and torqued up the front torsion bar on the driver's side. Mine was only out about an inch in the front and 3/4 of an inch in the rear. Everything is level now and I haven't noticed any problems with having the one front torsion bar torqued more than the other side. Hope this helps.

The leaf springs that they put in are totally weak as hell. When I put my sus. lift on I really noticed it more. i can look at my leaf springs and the driver side is flattened out a lot more than the passenger side. One of these days, I will fix it. Only one fix at a time. I'm starting to get a little bit tired of fixing little things here and there.
