Recently my X started running like crap under a load, and I just figured my fuel pump was crap. I changed it. When I removed the old one, I could blow through it fine and the gas was clean.

I talked to a good Ford friend and he suggested I pull a plug wire and look at the tip of the plug. When I did I noticed somepaint on the end of the plug *wire end, not the end inside the head*

He said if it had paint on it, then it was the origonal plugs. At $4 each at 120K miles, I figured why not....

Just thought I'd let you know.

It's recommended to change plugs and wires every 60k miles, so you were way overdue.

Glad it's running better.

how often are you supposed to change the wires.
