I have a 2009 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. I have replaced my headlights with LED bulbs and am using warning cancellers/resistors. This is the third company I have tried, and it seems that the warning is triggered differently, but I'm just going to focus on my current install.

1. If I start my vehicle with the lights in "auto" mode I "automatically" get the check left and check right low beam warnings. If I start it with the headlights off and turn them on manually I do not get these warnings.

2. The headlights seem to work correctly in low and high beam mode, until I go back to low beam from high beam. It then tells me to check both high beams.

Yes, I can hit the reset button and the warning goes away from the dash. It is still stored in the diagnostics memory though, but that doesn't seem to cause an issue. Surely there is a company out there somewhere that has actually found a cure for this issue. I'm sure it has to do with voltage and resistance, and I have read several older posts asking some of these same questions, but haven't noticed any more current posts so I thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone has any fresh info.

By the way, the company I purchased from has responded to my support request and they are now telling me I need an additional resistor adapter, so I have ordered it and will update when it arrives and I get it installed.

I would put back the street legal incandescent bulbs, but yes it seems likely you need a higher resistance dummy load to trick the circuit by pulling more current.

@Eddie2009 I am running these in in my 06 and there's no dash warning light of any kind, high/low beam functions exactly as normal...

Shows they're out of stock now though, dang it..
Amazon product ASIN B08BBYRS6D

Dang it what? Someone doesn't get to run illegal lights and blind people?

I'd call that a win.

If you can't drive with stock headlights *in good condition* you should have your license revoked if you try to drive at night. It's that simple.

If your housings are degraded, fix the problem, not resorting to illegal, blinding, countermeasures.

Unbunch your nuts, homeslice.
The ones I have are able to be rotated in relation to the housing so there's actually a bit of a cutoff. I also have mine aimed downwards a little more just negate the glare to oncoming drivers, and guess what? Nobody has flashed their brights at me.

I suppose you also don't like loud exhaust systems and tinted front door glass either...how many times should my license be revoked, deputy?

;)

Loud exhaust and tinted windows don't blind other drivers.

I don't flash people with illegal headlights because it's the lights, not that they're on high beam so there is nothing the other driver can do at the moment.
