One of the light diodes on the cruise control switch on the steering wheel has gone out - are these replaceable or do I have to get a new switch as Mr Ford says?

Its just a little light bulb. Not sure about in the UK, but a Contour bulb works perfect.

I had one side go out, and the Ford dealer jsut popped in a new switch, which has the bulb in it. The dealer will not install just a bulb. Not sure how much a new switch is over there, but it was relative cheap here. Then again, I had it done under warranty. They still listed the price.

I had the same problem.

I gave the steering wheel a little bump with the heel of my hand near the switch, (not too hard, but still pretty firm) and it has been working since.

Might give it a try before you spend any money.

Good Luck.

One side of my lights stopped working also, but i'm not sure when.

It's not getting fixed, LOL.

I had the same deal, Left side went out. I ended up replacing the switches with new after trying to pull the switch apart unsuccessfully. The switch was less than $50 if I recall.
