2001 Explorer Sport
Hey all! This is my first post to this forum and I am sorta scratching my head. I just was given a 2001 Explorer Sport that is in pretty fantastic condition.

After driving it home from work today, i noticed a little light smoke coming from under the hood. I pop it open and the smoke is barely visible, but i was able to locate where it was coming from. The truck isn't giving me any codes, and it wasnt running hot. The area that the smoke was coming from felt hot but nothing besides the engine was hot to the touch.

I can't seem to figure out what may be over heating, does anyone have a tip on what it may be?

Many thanks and appreciation!!

Valve cover gasket leaking oil onto exhaust header?

Yeah first guess would be valve cover gasket, 2nd would be heater hose coolant leak.

Possibly. When coolant leaks and steams you can usually detect a sweet smell. If it's oil, it will have more of a burn oil smell.
