Well here's the problem, when I come to a stop and the X is idiling the lights dim down really low and alternator gauge drops down really low. Once I take off the lights brighten back up, and the guage goes back to normal. I have a new battery, so I know its not that. The only thing I can figure is it's the alternator, or the regulator on the altenator. What do you guys think??? It has done this for probably about a year, and I haven't had any problems, except for the lights diming, but I would like to fix it.

What RPM is the engine idling at??

It's idling at near normal, about 650 to 750 when warm. It seams to dim down even lower when my blower/heater is on half way or max, it also gets even dimmer when you press the brake peddle. I'm sure it's all because I am drawing more amps or load when all this is on, but the system shouldn't dim down this much, it's pathetic. I would think a good altenator should be able to keep up with everything at idle, but maybe im wrong.

volts.

Try local parts house for free alt check. If it is showing low charge, Dont spring for the new alter. since it charges at higher rpms it is just the regulator. You can buy one of two kits for it. You can buy the brush kit and rebrush it. Instructions in box. or you can buy the regulator kit. The regulator is built into the back of your alternator and you dont have to remove the alt to replace it. The brushes are in the regulator if you just spring for the regulator.
