Alright, so I got about $500 to spend to upgrade and load up our Stingray. I just got my new wakeboard for my birthday and we have tons of skis/kneeboards and 3 big tubes (the ones you lay on holding on with your life, not sit in). Talked to the folks about getting the ski rack (since it's just a crusier boat), but they said just the sound system for now.

I'm headed towards probably the Pioneer DEH-7600 (since I love my 7500 in my truck), but as far as speakers and some low pass, I really don't know what I can do (all waterproof). There's a place for a pair of 6.5's (I think, I'll remeasure), but that's it. The boat has a dual battery system, so I don't think I'll need a blue top just yet. What would you guys prefer? Mostly going to be listening to rock/metal on the boat, but some low frequency might be nice.

Suggestions? ;)

BTW, pictures of the rig...

Dual batts, the other side has this room empty for something, that gray part just before the picture is a long cubby hole all the way up to the driver seat.. so I could put something in there..

Driver side, theres a speaker under there

Just storage, can't really do much I guess..

Just a full view.. didn't have one of pass side, but theres a speaker there too

Really need your help, getting it detailed this coming week and taking it out next weekend, it sounds soooo crappy right now :(

Thanks a ton!

sorry, i dont know how to help you. does this boat have a tower??? if so i would work on getting tower speakers. i am trying to figure out how im gunna hook up my boat, we r suppose to pick it up friday and there might/might ot be a stereo, the guy doesnt know if he wants it or not.

good 6.5s, or else go to town with the fiberglass.

No, no tower. That's what I wanted to be done last summer when my father's business was going real well, but he let the idea slip. I honestly can't find much of a selection of speakers for this, I know Alpine makes a set of marines.. Bazooka makes a bunch, but I refuse to put them in the rig. Any other suggestions?

Well, after seeing how low the 7600 is compared to the 7500, I'm gonna go with the Alpine CDA-9807. Only thing it doesn't have is a built-in EQ, but I'm not gonna be totally worried about it. Just now to figure out the speakers..

ive got the 7500mp too and i love it. the 7600 isnt as good? I dunno anything about it...i just saw that my head unit had been replaced and that the new one retails for like $100 less than the 7500

i have clarion marine speakers in my sea doo challenger, two sets of 6.5 coaxials. am very happy with them, and they are as loud as i would want them to be for use on the water (since the sound carries so far) they even have a nice low range.

Those are what I was just looking at, the Clarion CM1622s, only $60 bucks too. I think those sound pretty good, trying to get this as close to $300 as I can, since it's only going to be used every so often. Maybe I'll look into some marine components/amps later on, just need something more presentable.

Don't worry about buying marine speakers, just go with a high quality car audio speaker. This summer I will be putting some 6.5 Pioneers in our boat. 4 on the inside and 2 on the tower.

The 2 tower speakers will be going in these.

i heard that the 7600 has lower preout voltage and the display can not be changed via cdr. but the 7600 is priced a lot lower then what my 7500 was.

Why not marine speakers? Even though these are located pretty tucked under the both pass/driver feet areas, I doubt they'll get wet, but what's the advantage? :p

mine get completely and fully soaked all the time, i needed marine speakers. sounds like we just have a lot more fun with our boat than you lol

No need to waste money on marine speakers. Just go with a car speaker with a poly cone and rubber surround. They sound way better than marine specific speakers and you get more for your money. If I had a boat XM would also be a priority. At our lake you can't pick up any radio.
