location of sensor for dash board temp gauge

Where is it and what does it look like and whats the wiring color. so far I see one sensor that has only one wire to connector is this the temp sender to dashboard gauge sensor rt under the ignition coils above the water pump rt side. The one on the left side there is a 2 wire similar looking sensor is this the coolant temp sensor? please let me know asap.

it depends on which engine you have. but it will be the one with only 1 wire. if you ground the wire the gauge should go to full HOT.

keep in mind that the gauge may appear not to be working if your thermostat is stuck open, so the sender may not be the problem.
