I Have a freind that has just inherited a 92 Explorer 4x4. He is looking to lift it about 3-4 inches. He is pretty much set on a 3 inch body lift, just because of the cost. Are there any other cheap options? I am from the Toyota world and it only cost me 800 bucks to get a full 3 inch suspension lift, just curious to see if there is anything you could do with that price range.

Also, what size tires could you fit with a 4 inch lift? 33s? 32s?

Thanks yall

search around and you'll find a lot of info. The cheap way to go is 3" body lift like you said and 2" suspension lift using shackles and AAL in rear and either Skyjacker 2" springs, Daystar spacers, or F-150 coil spacers up front.

5" will get you 33's, I ran 32's on just the 2" suspension for a while but rubbed.

That`s the cheapest way to go if you do it your self. Go to a junk yard and pick apart a half ton: fornt coils and leaf springs. If you play your cards right it might cost you around $50-$150. And pick up the 3"body lift off of e-bay,It a complete kit, I just installed the older kit on my 96 with a 2" supension liftand a set of 31`s. After you do this you can put up to 35`s on, which you would have to change your gearing for.
Take your time and good luck!

i ran 33s with just a 3 inch body lift but you can easily for around 200.00 you can have a 3"body lift and 2 inch suspension with warrior shackles around 50 and spacers around 30 or so

I got a 3 in body lift I can sell you
