Rides very nice, lots of new parts, even the fuel filler neck.. 100K ish.
It has a stubborn P0402, and the cats looks new. They will replace the cat but we all know that probably won't solve it.
I doubt very much it is the cats. Looks like someone put in a ton of parts and traded it in from frustration. I'm going to have it smoke tested.

I am leaning toward Exhaust leak, I saw a bit smoke under the hood (more from the driver side manifold) when it started up, but you can't really hear anything when you drive. Manifold looks ratty, but no obvious leaks. Heat shield is broken off.

Heated seats don't work - guess that is the pads. Beyond that I was surprised how strong this thing pulls. I was also scared because all the bad trans reviews but it is extremely smooth shifting. Took it on a 30 mile drive.

Is the Dorman manifold any good? Or go with ford?
Thanks

It seems that an exhaust manifold leak typically makes a sound when the engine is cold and typically goes away when warm. Also, it seems like that trouble code is associated with EGR issues more than catalytic convertors. The trouble might lie there.

I recently bought a 2010 Mountaineer V8 and really like it. I suggest doing a pan drop and filter change on the transmission followed up by a second pan drop (no filter change) a few thousand miles later. This will swap out the bulk of the transmission fluid and will go a long way to keeping the transmission working properly. I also changed the transfer case and both differential fluids. One thing to look for is a leaking radiator. You will need to inspect it closely because many times the leak is hard to detect. This is a fairly common issue. Mine needed a radiator but I used that to beat down the price. Congrats on the purchase.

I can hear a very tiny tick on acceleration. No EGR on these - but EGR issues are vacuum leaks. Radiator was changed, but I noticed low in the recovery. I pressure tested it and it did drop a tiny bit in 15 min but no leaks. I tried another car and it was similar. Yeah, 100K is pan drop time.
