I was fixing a water leak from the rear seat belt area... not suprizing is it ... and after sealing up the horrible job ford did sorting out the 2-3 different kinds of fillers they used, I noticed the large trim panels just below the back windows on either side there are places for trim clips and holes in the sheet metal but no clips were installed. There was a piece of plastic blocking off access to install a clip on the panels but only if that tab was cut out (sorry I don't have a picture of this). Ford dealer said they have no stock in North America for the clips, assuming they looked up the correct part but I found a similar clip from GM, 15076791 http://i00.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/...nel-Retainers-Clips-15076791-Auveco-20444.jpg . Does anyone know the Ford part number or why clips were left out?

From your description of the issue I'm guessing this isn't for your 1997 XLT. If it is, you should post in that forum. If it is for a 2011+ Explorer it would be very helpful if you added it to your profile or a signature. Have you checked out www.fordparts.com to see if they show this particular clip? It may not have the actual part number but perhaps there is a number the dealer can check out to see if they are looking at the correct item. Also, you could try contacting Benny at Levittown Ford Super Center (shown under the Vendor tab) to see if he can be of any help. Good luck.

ford number is W711523-S300 , for all 2011 up Explorer inner 1/4 trim. I ordered GM part number 15076791 from the manufacturer "Geno" locally with their interchange part number being 20444 and should be here in a few days so I'll see if they work first.

same as the GM piece at the bottom of the page in the center, but no non FORD OEM interchange on their site found
