2020 Ford Explorer XLT
Below is a list of what I was thinking about doing, but please let me know about any ideas you have. I don't know what I don't know.

Hello all,

I recently purchase a 2020 XLT with 75k miles for $18,500. I'm having a full-service done to the vehicle by my local Ford dealer (well-trusted over the years). After it gets a clean bill of health, I want to do some upgrades. First, here's a photos of the new-to-me Explorer:
  • Blackout grill
  • Black Ford emblems
  • Black "EXPLORER" on the hood
  • Rain guards
  • Weather Tech mats for all rows and trunk
  • Upgrade reverse lights to LED
  • These center racing stripes on hood
  • Powdercoated/painted calipers
  • I'd also like to upgrade the rims (they look like 18"?) to 21" OEM black rims.

I like your blackout plan. I wish there were some black Timberline rims on the used market... those are really sweet.

Depending on how you like your audio, I'd upgrade the speakers, do a bit of sound insulation and add a subwoofer.

Welcome to the Forum.
Have you checked out the Ford all-weather mats? I used to run Husky liners in my previous vehicles because they provided more overall protection than the WeatherTech liners but my 2020 Aviator has the OEM liners and they are very good. As for the rims, I much prefer the 18" since they provide a better ride and are less prone to curb rash. Not to mention the tires are less expensive and you have more choices. If getting OEM rims, you need to get ones designed for the 2020+ models. The 5th gen wheels have a smaller center bore.

I just picked up WeatherTech's all-weather floor mats for all 3 row and trunk. Would these wheels be fine for a 2020 XLT?

According to the compatibility list, yes, they will fit the XLT.
If you currently have 255/65R18 size tires then a 255/50R21 is an exact replacement. The overall diameter difference being as close to 0% (-0.01) as you can get. The general rule of thumb when changing tire sizes is to not exceed 3% of the overall diameter variance compared to the OEM size.
