Looking to cover the X for about 8 months need a cover

I will be gone out of the country for about 8 months and have to keep the explorer outside in the driveway. I'm thinking of getting a decent car cover (one that breathes and doesn't mildew) and then put a tarp over the whole thing and tie it down real good. Do you guys think I'll have any problems with putting a tarp over the car cover? I live in Southern California so weather won't really be an issue just maybe some rain and wind during the winter months but I think if I tie it down good it should ok.

Wouldn't putting a tarp over the cover defeat the purpose of having a breathable cover in the first place? I'd get a good outdoor cover or bit the bullet and pay to have it stored indoors for the 8 months. Shouldn't cost you more then a couple hundred and it might be worth it for peace of mind.
