"loose" door handle

all of my door handles function 100% perfectly fine except the drivers....

It's "loose" or something... you have to pull it up halfway before it "catches" to open and it's harder to shut than the rest of the doors...

Is this a common problem with an easy fix or what?

Mine did exactly that... right before the latch broke off and had to be replaced.
The replacement mechanism and installation ran me about $200. People on here have replaced them by themsleves. It's a catch-22: If you replace it by yourself, the first one will take a few hours and you'll be cussin' like a sailor. Any you do after that will probably only take 20-30 minutes.
