I've tried doing a few searches and come up with a few topics somewhat similar but a final solution was never resolved in most cases so here goes. Today, I lost functionality in my Door Ajar, power windows, windshield wipers, speedometer (and possibly interior lights, but ive removed all of them).

Some backstory, For several months now I've had issues with my 95 Ford Explorer not registering one of the doors as being closed, pestering me with a door ajar warning. to deter the battery draining on me, i removed all the interior lights, but still had problems with the door being "ajar" even though it wasn't.

Today, the none of the doors trigger the ajar sensor, none of the windows work, my speedometer doesnt work and the wipers don't work. I checked the fuses and the one for "Speedometer and GEM System" #25 is blown. It's a 10amp, and when I try to replace it, it blows the fuse before I can even put it all the way in.

Where do I go from here?

And just where would I really begin to look?

Start in your driver's kick panel area. That thread has other suggestions.

I'm having the same exact problem with my 95 explorer XLT. Did you ever get to the bottom of it?
