I just had the front bearings redone, but now I am getting a pretty loud clicking sound that varies with speed and disappears when I touch the brakes. Any ideas on this??

Never had this happen, but I'm speculating that the wheel bearing could be too loose; when you hit the brakes, the pads touch the rotors and move the rotor back where its supposed to be.

I would jack up the front and rotate the wheel(s) by hand to see if you can reproduce the sound. Also try to move the wheel in and out to check if the wheel bearings are adjusted ok. You shouldn't feel much movement at all.

I once had that sound on my truck. The lugnuts were loose on my left rear tire. It might not be that, but worth a check.

it sounds like i need to go back to the shop that did the wheel bearings...

I had the same problem after replacing pads. Try the blue glue that is made to stop brake squeel. On mine it was the pads rattling, that it why it stops when you touch the brakes.

When they repacked the wheel bearings, maybe they messed with the brake pads, and forgot about the anti-rattle clips.
