2001 Explorer EB
Hi everyone, this is my first post, but I've been searching and reading on these forums for awhile now. First, a little background info. I got an 01 Explorer EB package with a V6 from a family member last year. The car was sitting for a long time and hadn't moved for over 4 years. It only had 65k miles, needed some work, and I'm mechanically inclined so I said why not.

Last year I replaced all the fluids, the lower ball joints, outter tie rods, all links and bushings, tires (Firestone Destination LE since it was to be a daily driver), shocks (KYB monomax) and basic tune up things. I had an extremely annoying vibration at 65+ MPH but winter came and I just lived with it. Now the nice weather is here and I started to hunt down this vibration. Last weekend, I replaced both front hub assemblies. The front drivers side axle seal was leaking and it felt like a good amount of play in the axle bearing (I think thats what its called?). I decided to replace the bearing and seal while I was in there. Also did all three (one in front and two in rear) u joints and upper control arms. The truck also got an alignment when I was all done.

Today I drove it on the highway since all the work was finished, but the problem seems to be worse. The annoying vibration has turned into a loud drone and more of a low frequency rumble. I just can't seem to find this. It seems to be a lot worse now. I'm pretty sure all the work was done correctly since this isn't the first time I've done these things but I'm willing to look into anything.

Any thoughts? It's driving me nuts. Getting ready to just bring it to a shop if I cant figure it out.

Bad wheel/axle bearing in the back maybe?
