Loud Humm under the hood

Hi all

I'm new here and have had my 96 EB for about 5 years.

It has a 4.0 with a K&N FIPK other than that the engine is pretty stock.

My wife drives this thing back and forth to work (5 Miles each way) it now has 100000 miles (just turned)

It has started a intermittit humm under the hood at idle it is preety loud, First I thought the FIPK was doing it (needed cleaning) so I cleaned it and tightened all the bolts.

Started it up no noise

Came home from work on Friday loaded it up to go to the NHRA nationals in Seattle fire it up (it was warm the wife had been driving it) and you guessed it HUMMMMM

Sure sounds like its in the air cleaner area and it goes away when you come up on the throttle.



It runs great does not use oil does not throw any codes just now this HUMMMMM

Any ideas ???

Idle Air Control unit. It's actually near the engine and reverbs to the airbox. Do a search on 'IAC' and you'll find all the info you need.
