I think your only option is to have it custom lowered if you want a 2-3 inches drop. I have a lowered truck (1 3/4 drop). I have the Explorer Express lowering kit and Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks. Most of the guys here have the Explorer Express lowering kit and Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks as well.

I think if you lower your truck by 2-3 inches, the ride will suffer especially when you hit a bumpy road. On the positive side, lowering it by 2-3 inches will improve your handling especially when you are also equipped with a high performance tires. If you lower your truck, you might also want to consider changing your stock shocks.

If you lower you truck 2-3 inches you will definitely want to replace you shocks. Otherwise you'll be bouncing from stoplight to stoplight.

are you happy with the handling, looks, and the ride with the express kit and the shocks?

I am very much happy with the handling and looks. As far as the ride, I can say I'm somewhat unhappy especially when I hit a pot hole.

shocks

I am wondering about the stock shocks with the lowering kit. Has any of you guys compared the stockers with the Edelbrocks? Seems to me that after aftermarket shocks tends to be stiffer than stock. I figure this by the way they advertise them as....less body roll, less front end dive during braking, etc, etc. I've thought about just leaving the stock shocks on when I purchase my lowing kit.

I'm curious to know as well. I had my stock shocks replaced when my lowering kit was installed.

When I lowered my sport, I had stock shocks. To be honest the ride was a bit unbearable. You literally bounce when you hit a bump. Its like you hit the bump then have little aftershock bounces afterwards. I replaced the stock shocks with the eldebrocks, and that was a huge difference. But when I got my new rims and a set of michilen Pilot LTXs now the ride is great. All I need is the rear sway bar. But the ride is so much better with the tire and shock combo. But for now the ride will be tolerable comfort wise with just the shocks. But the handling will be greatly improved also. If you want more comfort go with the tires, the stocks are just too bouncy for a lowered truck.
Hope I helped Jason.
