I may be the millionth person asking and posting this, and for that I'm sorry. Can you lower a four door explorer that has 4WD?? Does anyone know off the top of their heads what parts I need to do this? I am looking for a small drop, 1.5 - 2" total. I want to put 17's on it and make the wheel wells look a little morefull. Also, has anyone tried an airbag setup?

i also want to know about airbags. like are they compatible with explorers? how much do they cost for a full set up? how much do they lower/raise back up?

Yes you can lower it about 1.5 inches using blocks in the back and cranking the torsion bars up front. Do a search on it, there are more than enough topics about the subject.

Bags are going to cost you upwards of 4-5k for a good setup. The range of motion is all up to which kind of bags you get.

Hartman, siberthug can't use the torsion bars to lower the front cause he doesn't have any, he has a 93. It's a good idea to pay attention to the type of vehicle before replying.

Siberthug, I personally don't know of the best way to lower an early model, but I'm sure someone else will respond with a good idea.

Oh sorry, I didn't see the model. Let me correct myself then...

Some models have i-beams in the front, I'm not sure which, but if you have those you can use dream beams from DJM to get the front lower. Some of the Ranger guys do that. Or, you could always go with lowering coils, but more than likely you'll have a rough ride.
