If it was a display engine whos to say it has been put together properly. It may not have any of the chains, the cams, pistons or who knows what and even if it is complete was everything torqued up properly. If i bought it i would have to tear it appart somewhat before i fitted it, but thats just me being cynical i guess

oooh yes the bolts would just come out with the merest touch of a ratchet. And you look inside to see a new glisten
 






Ok the latest...this guy has more than one NEW sohc lump............drool, I am in chat with him now, nice dude, a fellow off roader, driving a v8 something- prob a disco.

Only thing is I know as these are as per factory, they will need the chains done after a while..(the oil restrict pencil mod with intake seals straight away-to avoid greif).

Depends on the year of manufacture. But as a preventative measure it would prob be best to pull off the front timing cover and do the main tensioner to the updated one. Should then be good for 100K. The cassettes should be ok though i have a feeling the front one has had an update too. $30 for the main tensioner, $8 for the cover gasket, $40 for 00m12kit and if you want to do the front cassette then $88 for that (from memory prices @ tascaparts.com, genuine ford). Of course plus p&p and import duties
