m0012 Kit that damn galley bolt!

Hi guys,

I got the m0012 kit when i did my timing chains, however my galley bolt is stuck to hell! I tried to get it out with ratchets with torque bits and breaker bars with torque bits, but the torque bits just started to twist.

Does anyone know any good tricks to loosening it up?

Don’t know if this will help, but when I did mine it felt like it was stripping. I made sure that the opening was good and clean then made sure the torx was seated deep. This worked. Sucked because when I got it off, there was already a oil restrictor in the opening.

not when you are heating an aluminum head.

try putting the torx bit in the plug, adding and extension and give it a couple of sharp wacks with a BFH. the plug is steel and the head is aluminum. when you mix dissimilar metals together electrolysis causes corrosion between the two. a wack with a hammer usually breaks the corrosion and allows you to get the plug out.
