Hi folks,

Is there any way to successfully clean your MAF without removing it from the engine. It's really cold here, and my tools are currently not available (divorce thing), wondering if a can of gumout (or equivalent) will do the job by spraying into the intake??

Thanks,

Douglas

Yeah that's the way I do it on mine, your gonna have to spray alot to force it through the screen though.

Don't use gumout! Do a search on cleaning MAF sensor and you will see suggestions on what kind of cleaner to use. Don't use gumout! To get the to the MAF sensor all you need is a screwdriver (which you will need to spray "at" it anyway, and one metric wrench or socket (probably an 8mm maybe a 10, don't remember for sure.

It is much better to take it off, and while you are cleaning that, you can clean the throttle body too. Don't use gumout, and don't just spray it into your intake. It would be better to just wait until spring... seriously.
