I signed on to this killer site a few months ago. I used the helpful search option to answer most of my ?'s. My '94 Sport now has a 6" Skyjacker lift and runn'n 33's. After it was complete I took it to the shop to get an allighnment done. My steering problem seems to coming from the lack of caster. The lift kit came with drop brackets for the radius arms but it doesn't seem to be enough. Any suggestions? After market radius arrms?

caster and camber are adjusted from eccentric cams in the upper balljoint...... they have cams to fix them up to about 3 degrees of camber..... caster will not cuase the car any harm at all, it will just pull to one side

The mech put in after market cams to make the adj. Sounds like he had to use all the adj. for camber and verry little caster. From my looking around in here it sounds like dropping the radius arm will bring the caster in a more stable position. Am I wrong? This thing handles like a pig. I'm afraid I'm gonna run somebody over.

do you have the stock steering set up? does it feel like when you hit a bump your truck bounces all over known as "bump steer". if this is what you had i purchased the superrunner steering system and didn't have any probs there after.

The only change to the steering was a new pitman arm

i personally haven't had any problems with the steering after adding the superrunner setup........it does cost around 500 i think...cant remember bought it a wile ago.

I had steering problems after a superlift kit. The radius arm bushing were worn out and were replaced. My steering problems went away.

After lifting mine six inches, my steering was all over the place, turned out to be the right side lower balljoint

Thank's X-1. It seems as though my problem lies somewhere else. I replaced all bearrings in ball joints and adj. hubs. I'm gonna go over to the local 4x4 shop where I got my lift kit and see what they have to say. Might as well pick up those Warn manual hubs at the same time.

Skydog, save up for the extended radius arms they will make a dif with the castor. Drive the truck on some really bumpy roads for the next couple of weeks as much as you can. You might try to pull up to a curb and drive on and off of it a bunch of times. This will cause your springs to brake in faster and get rid of some of that camber. If your X is rocking side to side take the shocks off and check to see if they are blown, even new shocks can go out the second you let the jack down. I purchased the superrunner steering and can't really tell the diff between the factory. I spent 400 on it and it might be better. I had scarry driving conditions when I put mine together and turned out to be blown shock. If your tires look like this l l and not like this \ / then try the stuff I mentioned. If like this \ / get the radius arms and bounce the crap out of the springs. Good luck.

Yeah, after the allighnment the tires were ||. I want to switch out the stock radius arms anyway, so I guess that will be the next mod. Any recommendations? I'm hearring that the James Duff arms kinda blow. Anything else out there worth-while? Thanks for the input.
