Reading through the manual, I came across the part that says the HVAC should not be left in the "O" position. I assume that means "OFF". According to the manual, this is so the vehicle can "breathe".
I usually leave it in the "O" position. Is there actually harm in doing this? Does this lead to a shortened blend door life expentancy? We do this on my wife's Expedition also.
