Hi all. I scored a sweet deal 400 for a 93 X that i was able to limp home. I drove it a half hour home the only NOTICEABLE problem so far is the clutch is GONE!!! So i went and bought a new clutch and pulled the tranny. which by the way i recommend a trans jack and or 2+ people that thing is pretty heavy when still attached to transfer case. anyway I know that there was a common problem with these manual trans. and there was some plugs that were rubber and needed to be removed and put metal ones back in. what im not sure of is where these plugs are i would like to verify the metal ones are in there before i put trans back in. i see three freeze plug looking things on the back side of the very top part of the trans i believe its called the shifter plate or something like that anyway. if anyone knows where these plugs are and if these are the ones i need to be looking at it would be great help thanks.

Not my picture...found it through Google images, but it shows the location of the 3 original rubber plugs. If yours has the metal freeze plugs in place of the stock rubber ones, then you should be good to go.
