Hey guys and gals, I wanted to stop by this thread and say "HELLO" to everyone. My name is Rob and yes I am an X owner. Actually the X is my wifes ride and I have a '00 Tundra. In sort of a round about way owning the Tundra led me to this site. Let me see if I can explain, I'll try to keep it short. I LOVED my Tundra for the first few years that I owned it, but right around 12k out of warranty the transmission grenaded leaving my wife stranded 40 plus miles away from home with me out of town. I was so :fire: That is not why i bought a Toyota. Searching online about my problem I came across a site very similar to this, Tundrasolutions.com a vBulliten site for Tundra owners. On this site I learned a great deal about my Toy from a great group of guys. Yeah, I'm not the only one with the tranny problem, but all these guys helped give me a new appreciation for my truck. Now about the X, it's a '94 XLT 4X4 w/145k on it. My wife and I bought it in '96 w/24k on it. I change the oil every 5k or so, keep replacing pads and rotors, I changed the tranny fluid once @ 136k  , replaced the leaking float on the fuel sender(threw a fuel pump in while I was there) and I am just starting to develop a leak @ the pitman shaft seal. Other than that, for the past eight years all we've done is put the key in the ignition, start her up and drive down the street. This X has to be the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. My wife would love a new Xpediton, but I can't bear to part with our '94. Besides, I am not totally down with a $650 monthy payment when we've been payment free for 5 years with the X. It's been very good to us and I have a great appriciaton for it. It will need a little work soon to keep her going for what I hope is another 150k and I'm more than willing to do it. That's what led me here. I was on my other vBulliten site and was wondering if there was a site similar for X enthusists. Did a search on Google and .002 seconds later, this site was my first choice. I am looking foward chattin' and contributing with all the members here while I gather ideas to "restore" my x.
Talk to ya soon,
Rob
