I have a 2000 XLT Auto. 4x4, with the towing package (3.73 gears). I changed the transmission fluid with Amsoil a few months ago. However, I notice at a stop (especially an abrupt stop) I feel one final "bump" forward if you will almost like someone taps me from behind. :banghead: Almost feels like my transmission shifting into 1st to get ready to take off again. Should I feel that? I'm guessing there is nothing really wrong with it. I may just not be used to a vehicle geared this low. Maybe I am just paranoid. :banghead: :burnout: Could this be a sign that Something is about to go out? 80k (apx odometer shows 77, but I put 10% taller tires on at around 67k).

it could be at an abrupt stop the coast clutch is not releasing untill you stop fully and then it shifts to first gear it could be nothing but it could be someting also hows the fluid level and condition?

bump stop maybe...the fix for this is greasing the slip yoke on your driveshaft...i don't know if "slip yoke" was the right word, but it sounded right, just do a search for bump stop

yeah its probably your slipe yoke needing some greasing up. fairly common. search for threads on slip yoke and you will find lots of info. i think there is a how-to post on it

possible but my 96 has never been greased and it doesnt do this if the factory cover on the slip yoke has not been torn or have holes in it then it should be like brand new in side and "shouldnt" need grease but nothing is text book these days
