Hi Hoots. You know when it comes to speakers, quality is more important than quantity. If you got extra cash just buy yourself better quality speakers or amp. If you don't have a subwoofer in the back then maybe spend it on that instead of 2 extra speakers that you already have in the front.

Well, good luck, man.

well I already have a sub in the back (factory 8inch) which is fine by me, Im just looking for more claridy, T'm not looking for more bass, more highs then anything, once i have that then i put a sub in later (maybe)! My explorer is for camping off road, not for driving up and down the strrets and carinking up the bass so the females or males if that can hear it. know what I mean?

Go with a set of component speakers and put them in. Wether it be in the front or back, you'll hear more clarity. However, you still shouldn't skimp out on quality here. Good components are worth their weight in gold(ok maybe not, that'd be alot of gold..). Either way, go with quality.. I personally use the JL XR 3-way component set. I'll never buy anything ever again unless I somehow damage these. I'm totally impressed with them and if I had the money again, Id buy them again. I've alos listened to focal, mb quartz, adire, bostons etc etc. I feel the JL lineup really kicks ass tho. Go to your local audio shop and find what you like and have them install it.. If you find a quality shop, they can do exactly what you need.

sounds good thanx alot. i was at my local audio shop EHR, and they suggested that put I believe they said to put MBQDSD 2/3 ($600 for both) and MBQDSD 157 189 for both plus install, run four crossovers and one amp to suppply everything Fossgate everything, it would run me about 1200 dollars for everything, plus the amp which is $600

I would highly suggest to atleast attempt to install most of it yourself.

All you need is some patience, some research, and a plan.

After that it's just going outside and removing some trim and running wires.

Really not that difficult if you break it down, and wouldn't you rather pay yourself $60-100/hr for labor instead of someone else?

its really easy to do the rears. should take 30 min if you take your time. the front doors are easy to take off, but not fun to put back on if its your first time. ive done it so much i can do it blindfolded.

if you are bent on adding more speakers take off the rear hatch trim. there is plenty of room back there for speakers. just cut out holes in the trim and add grills.
