I'm interested in putting a tow hitch on my '94 Explorer and want to know what the most hidden hitch is. I don't want to see it other than the connection point. No bars or anything. Thanks.

Draw Tite and Hidden Hitch both have round tube classIII hiches that should be what you are looking for. I have the Draw Tite on my 92 and it looks very good. Can't see hardly any of it when i take my reciever cover off it. Looks very good. I think those are what you want.

Sounds good to me, I'll look into it. Thanks a lot.

Most Hidden

For the cost of a commercial hitch, find someone good at welding. Remove the innermost part of your rear bumper (the step part) and get a bolt-on hitch meant for pickup bumpers. Have your welder 'box' the part you took off for strength, then have him weld the receiver in place. If you cut the rear sloped part of the bumper slightly, the receiver will tuck up right against it, there will be no gap anywhere, the rear will be flush with the rear of the bumper, and the only thing showing when you put it back together is the receiver itself. Can't get any smaller than that. The bumper itself is good to tow 3500lbs, with the reinforcement, probably 5000.

hidden hitch

if i were you i would go with the hidden hitch, its practically fully under the car. Great deal!

Whatever you decide, be sure that it is a FRAME MOUNTED hitch.

I use the Hidden Hitch ( Dead Link Removed and am very happy with it.

I kind of like the fact that I have that bigass hitch showing. Considering I only paid $90 for a Class IV hitch, plus it makes it easier to keep clean to prevent it from rusting. Also the fact that the hitch itself weighs in around 60 Lbs, I leave it on all the time. Makes a great bumper protector.

I agree. I have a Class V on mine. I like the big look. But, it's all preference. Only problem is mine started rusting (it's a DrawTite Class V). I need to take it off, probably tomorrow, and take it to be sanded, powder-oated and sealed.
