Motor and tranny question?

Just wondering if Ford had many problems from the 99 explorer?I have a v6 efi motor with 185k on the clock.The motor sounds an runs fine and also the tranny seems to be shifting fine.Sum buddys I work with was trying to tell me fords fall all to peices at 150k? Thanks!

The 4.0 SOHC engine has a problem with the timing chain system,do a search and you will find plenty of info.
The tranny in it is not the best but at the kind of mileage you are talking about who cares,do the maintenance and drive it until it breaks.It's a $2000 vehicle at best.
