2005 Mustang long-block is a common choice, but don't spend more than $500-$600 and do the work yourself or it's not worth it.

SOHC V6 long block

The long block from any vehicle with the Ford SOHC V6 will work: Explorer, Mountaineer, Ranger, Mustang. However, some of the accessories, engine wiring harness, fuel rails, valve covers, throttle body, EGR pipe, and sensors may have to be swapped from your current engine to the replacement to be compatible with the PCM and other wiring. For a direct swap you probably should get a 1999 or 2000 Explorer or Mountaineer engine. The engine in a 4WD has the balance shaft while the engine in a 2WD doesn't. In my opinion that doesn't matter unless you do a lot of high rev off road driving.

ya all my other stuff its good I just need the long block with heads and in tacked time chains and its a 2x4 so no off roading at all its just a city driver

and I do plan on doing the motor swap my self with a few friends I got a few quotes and they all made me gasp for air
