if your stock coils are dead yes, if they are fine. no. My GMS coils were a decent upgrade, but didnt warrent the 400 doller price tag, get yourself a tune or an electric fan first.

As Zero said, if your stock ones are working good, then you won't see much of a change if at all. The stock ones are good for up around 650hp before more powerful ones will be needed.

Also, aftermarket ones tend to fail faster than stock ones. Not always, but more likely.

ebay.... watch for Striker Coils. Pro Comp (lift kit company) & others sell them from time to time. $125 for a set of 8.

They are Red Like the MSD's, they have a higher voltage rating & a faster Dwell for quicker recovery. They sell out quickly, I had to wait 3 months, till they got more back in. Worth it.

1/3 the cost of the Accels, MSD's, & GMS's

The OE's are fine until they fail. New ones from Motorcraft will set you back about the same as aftermarket with no performance gain.

I went through 3 used OE coils waiting, the difference is enough, my wife even commented how much better her truck felt the next morning when she drove to work.

Fresh NGK V-power copper plugs, coils, reset the ECM... call it a day... have a beer.
