multimedia hu vs car pc

i'm not sure who out there has a nice dvd playing hu or if anyone on here even has a car pc but i'm debating between getting a clarion MAX685BT (friend owned and never used, are there issues with this model or anyone have good reviews?) or throwing in a nice lilliput touchscreen monitor and having a fiberglasser redo my bezel i know which would be easier but which is going to be better running clarion's firmware on there screen? or running roadrunner xp? and if i run either which one will be better going down the road if i hit some rough road? thanks in advance

Multimedia HU is easier to install is just put it in and use it but you can upgrade or do anything that was not program from the begining.

CarPc is harder to install and make it work like you want, but probabilities are endless your imagination and your pocket are your limits, you can add anything you like.

I have been on mp3car.com all week trying to figure out how im going to install a carpc in my Ex. I came to the conclusion that imma just get a descent double DIN until I can afford to put together the type of car pc i want.

If you put a DD you'll never install the carpc, install a cd player, that will move you to do the work.
