My 1996 Explorer has hesitation with an occasional misfire.

1996 explorer idles nice, but now and then feels like it misses, hesitation up steep hills, replaced fuel filter, worked for a while, replaced sparks plugs,same problem came back, just cleaned maf, replacing wires next, any other ideas?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. Check the crankshaft/camshaft position sensor(s).

Could also be a bad coil pack... I had the same symptoms when accelerating to get on the highway...

me too except it was all the time

mine was my MAF took a dump & had to buy a new one
