My 2003 is throwing a P0775 code.

Hey guys, I know this thread is old, so this means that I dug pretty well...;)

Will this solenoid valve work in my 2003 XLT'03, 4x4, 4.0 SOHC?

I have codes P0732/735/775  The truck shifts badly from 1st to 2nd and the final gear is just not there...:(

Where can I find a tranny rebuild kit for cheap? I live in the Dominican Republic and Ford parts are way expensive...:(

PLEASE HELP!!!

That solenoid block should work, but it's a good idea to contact them before you order it. WWW.TransmissionPartsUSA.Com has rebuild kits.

Thanks...I'll write them to see what happens...

One more thing...these rebuild kits in the website confused me more...what is the tranny # for the X? Is it the 5R55S or W? I wrote them anyways, but do you know?

There are 3 kits listed. Each one has different items. I saw gaskets listed in 2 of them. Click the part where it says more info to see what it comes with.

I took the truck to an automatic transmission shop here in DR...they just called me...:(

they have to put a new solenoid bank, gaskets, seals and tranny repair kit...$1,200 total with 12 month warranty...:( I guess I'll have to go and find this money for tuesday when they finish the rebuild...

Funny thing is that this is my second Ford Explorer and this is my second tranny rebuild!!! oh man...the truck is superb but the trannies stink!
I guess that this is due to it having 125k miles :(

My truck is back and it feels so much better...pulls way better from a stop...it feels like it has more hp!!!:D:thumbsup:
They changed the solenoid bank, all gaskets and seals, tranny repair stuff, some planetary thing... well, the good thing is that it feels superb now...

I'll stay with the truck for like 6 more months and then get an '04 F-150 Lariat or King Ranch...

Only thing is the freakin' whine heard due to the bad IAC :(:(:thumbdwn:

jumping on the wagon here... I also have those same codes pop-up on my sister-il-laws 2002 - was the solenoid bank the culprit of the problem?

The culprit of mine was the complete tranny repair kit and solenoid bank...
If you take it to a respectable tranny shop you might have good luck and not have to change the tranny repair kit...
Mine had the problem that was not changing in two different gears...

well... I have read the codes yeasterday and it gave me exactly the same codes... P0732, P0735 and P0775

was wondering if adjusting bands is gonna help... or go for the solenoid pack instead... I know it would not hurt to adjust first... it has 99,000 miles on the odo...

Oh man...sorry for your sister-in-law...I don't believe adjusting the bands would be good enough...you can try, but the O/D light will keep on coming...
:(
My personal conclusion...
Second Ford Explorer...second new transmission...last Ford Explorer ever...

Well, I did manage to finally adjust the bands... and shifting improved but just a bit. Now it goes into 2nd gear at around 4-5k RPM's... I get no O/D light flashing though. It made me think then that I might have a problem with one of the bands... worn bands.

I did torque the adjusting bolts to 10Nm and then backed both 1.5 turns...

I will probably go for a new solenid pack... and just hope that I will not have to remove cats to replace seals on the servos...
