my explorer doesnt work cause the transfer doesnt work!!!

i have been searchin for a transfer for about 2 months now, 2 months with out my explorer, its a 96 XLT 4 x 4 and i have found one on Nogales, Phoenix or Magdalena (magdalena is a mexican city), and i found this TCS transfer case, but i really dont know if it will work on my explorer, it said it would but i dont know, does some body knows if it will work?

Its to bad your not in my state I culd fix it for free Its simple for me to do but not explaine and the best part is you dont even nead to replace your transfer case or shift motor sorry

Well if your so smart, answer his question. Will that shift motor work on his truck? He came to this site for help, not some smartass comment from a noobie that kaint spel. It makes this wonderful site look bad.

umm I simply must say that I am sorry I had bin up for 3 days and saw that i was kind of rude and off im my statment and I do have to agree with you AspenX im some statments. I'm very sorry jchichuv umm yeah you could fix it buy geting a new motor but I sujest checking your fuses first man just incase so you dont have to see if its a simpel fix ans not one that costs more that a fuse.

Have you tried to clean your shift motor? Call the companies phone number thats in the auction and ask if the shift motor will work on a Borg Warner 4405. Is you truck stuck in 4wd? I believe you can pull the shift motor from the t case and manually shift it back into 2wd.

Mike is right, you can manually shift the transfer case into gear as long as the truck is running and in neutral.. Definately first trying cleaning the shift motor electrical connection.. If that fails, remove it and try testing it.

Well, you have the control trac, so 2WD to Auto switch is electronic, therefore a shift motor probably isn't your problem. What exactly is the problem?

From what we wew talking about in the privit mesages you may nead a new trany man .But like I said try to run some trany lube to see if it remidys the problem it just might you may luck out now as for your t-case you can try this I have done this before have some one sit in your cab while the engine is running in park with your parking brake engaged! And have your helper keep presing the 4hi switch while you now trust me on this use a ruber malet of dead blow on you t-case motor gear till it loosens the cilenoied on it I have the work xp I did this in the shop when i fixed some customers X's

He doesn't have the same 4WD system as you!!! What mode is it stuck in? If its in 2WD or AUTO. Its an electronic problem. But should still be driveable in either mode.

Yup he is correct he has 2HI, auto, 4LO Remove the shift motor and put 12 volts on it and see if you can hear it.. Get a chilton or haynes manual on how to test it correctly.

I assume it's stuck in low, or it would just be driven. Why would you suspect trans problems?(aside from the fact that its a v6 Explorer )

Because we have privet mesaged eachother. He said his trany grinds when it shifts im second gear he has an automatic.
