2003 Sport Trac
Hi all, my girlfriend has a 03 sport trac that has seemed to be possessed as of late. It started a while back with the door chime not coming on anymore when leaving the headlights on when getting out of the truck. The interior lights no longer come on when opening any of the doors which both we have learned to live with so far.

But the other day she was driving home from work at night and all the interior lights just came on and would not turn off including the parking brake light which i have seen come on on two occasions. She got home and was worried about killing the battery with everything on and not be able to turn them off. Well shortly after she said everything went off and now back to nothing coming on when they are supposed to.

Anyone have any ideas for me to mess with this weekend, thanks.

I had a simialr problem wih the interior lights. It tuned out that I had a wire in the drivers door that had broken at the door lock actuator. I have read that this is not uncommon to happen. Do a search on here for door lock actuator and you should find some info. I had to take the door panel off and I was able to trace down the broken wire. A simple repair and the problem is now gone!! The other clue on my truck was that the auto lock function was not working when I would put the truck in gear, or it would go crazy and lock/unlock constantly.

Thank you very much for the tips, will be checking out the door this weekend to see if we had similar problems!

my 97 explorer (similar wire routing) likes to break wires in the junction for the doors. I have replaced every pin at least once, and re-wired the whole thing a few months back. I noticed the other day i have another broken wire on the drivers door

I've got some weird light issues, it's my dimmer switch so make sure you check that. I just haven't bothered fixing it
