I just bought two front seats off of ebay. They were pulled from a 98' X and have about 37k on them. They are going in my 98 Sport because mine are trashed. My question is how long will the process of swapping the two will be. Also since they are power, is it just a matter of plug and play? I can't wait, but I still dont' know that the hell I'm getting myself into.

Here's the link to the seats I bought.

The irony here would be if a liberal has all your answers and could walk you through the whole process. Then there are the religious folk who don't take kindly to the blasphemy. Kinda like burning your bridges before you cross them.:(

In that case, can any conservatives answer my question?

Got a little hate in your heart there LL? Not sure where liberal or conservitive fits into a thread about seats, but ok.

It's only 5 bolts per seat, so depending on your competecy with a wrench it could take anywhere from 15 min to a full weekend project.

Since I'm a conservative, I'm willing to offer my help. :D
You'll need a wrench and the instructions are as follows: Take off the 5 bolts holding each seat in place. Remove seats and bolt the new seats on in. Simple as that. ;) BTW: Anything to help a fellow conservative.;)

Hey you got the seats that I was thinking about bidding on. I was going to install these as rear seats :)

You will be able to do this in a couple hours. Good Luck.

Make sure you have a star wrench to remove the seat belt bolt.

I was going for those too. I ended up making a very good deal with a guy on eBay for a set of front and rear 2002 seats. Anyway, you wouldn't need a set of rear leather seats would you? I have a like new set of 2000 rear 50/50 leather split rears that I would let go for say $125 shipped. Let me know....

Does your truck currently have manual seat tracks? If so would you be interested in getting rid of them? I'm looking for a set for my truck.

You want the seats too or just the manual tracks? I was just going to throw my manual seats away. If you want the tracks, let me know.

where'd that black
padding in the back come from

I'm looking for manual seat tracks but they have to be from a 98+ explorer. the recline/slide lever is setup differently on older years. I've tried to make them work but it's gonna be more work that it's worth.

It's a rear cargo cover that completely covers the back. The inside tailgate has a cover as well. Only $20 on eBay last year.
