Long story short. I drive an 01 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0 AWD. My truck got repo'd at my job and one of the females at my job told me that the guy who towed my truck tried to tow it from the back then he towed it from the front. Shouldn't it be on a flatbed or put in neutral before its even towed? I still had the keys to the truck he never came and got them. What damaged could have been caused since it was never in neutral? Sorry, if I posted this in the wrong section didn't know where to post this question.

more likely he drug it around the corner and then popped it with a slimjim and used a master key to unlock the wheel so he could put it in neutral.

but all wheel drives should be flat bedded when they are being moved with out driving them.

other than tearing up the tires, not sure what else could be damaged

Ok, thanks for the response. I was curious about that. When I get the money to get it back imma check for damages done to it. Cause the girl told me he look like he was in a hurry. So, the Transfer case should be fine?

Yea if he just dragged it around the block or something, its fine. I used to help my buddy who owns a tow company do repossessions, thats what we would do frequently. Find the vehicle, use the boom and pull up right to it and lift and go around the corner or somewhere.. Then once we had possession of the truck/car/etc, we would use go-jacks to put under the rear axle if we lifted via the front end..

Alright, I hope that's what he did. I can't wait to get rid of this bank that I got the car loan from I always go through problems with them. I'm suppose to make my last payment this month on the 28th but seems like they want to screw me over like always. Anyways thanks for all the replies.

they can always just go under the truck and remove the trans shift bolt and move the trans into neutral manually.
