Mystery road noise.

i still have the road noise on my 2000 explorer xlt- the transfer case lubricant i drained was black with a heavy burnt odour, would this indicate a wrecked transfer case causing the growly humming noise ?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. Drain the fluid, refill it with fresh fluid, and see if there is an improvement.
